About this poster
This small poster was designed as a gift
from a Hebrew speaker to a friend in Japan.
The style is reminiscent of the great
Japanese artist K. Hakusai’s famous piece
“In The Well of the Great Wave of
Kanagwa”.
The main element is the Hebrew letter
“Yodh”. It is the first letter in the word
“Japan”, and the first letter in the word
“friendship” (Yedidut).
The left chop displays the numerical value of
this letter (10), and the right chop displays
the name of the letter, in a font fashioned
after Kanji letters.
On the right, the word “friendship” repeats
itself in Italian, Spanish, Russian, French
and Japanese.
